C'mon Canada Post.

Before we left for Mexico I ordered a new monofin from Starfins, the company owned by finswimming champion Alexandr Lichenko. Alex's fins have been getting a lot of buzz and he has been talked up on the freediving forums as someone who pays careful attention to freedivers and their needs. As a record winning finswimmer, he understands what it is like to wear a fin that doesn't work, and what is needed to build one that does.

I relied heavily on his guidance when ordering the fin and am (no pun intended) holding my breath until it arrives. It took me a long time to realize that the fin I have now is far too stiff and has a much larger blade than I require. I discussed this with Alex, sent him information about my height, weight and information about how I plan to use the fin, and he assured me that he would send me something that would help me to swim like a mermaid. No small promise!

Yesterday I received an e-mail from Alex telling me the fin is on its way. So now I am waiting for my new wetsuit and my new is starting to feel a lot like Christmas.
